Live event painting inside a professional forum
At the Break The Ice Forum, held at Cardo Brussels, a live canvas grew alongside the day's programme, an artist-held space where delegates could pause between sessions, contribute a mark and see the room take visible form.
The Context
A professional forum designed to open dialogue across sectors, hosted in a cultural venue that already carried an artistic tone. The organisers wanted an artistic element able to soften threshold moments and give the day a shared visual memory.
The Invitation
To bring live event painting into the forum: an artist working in the room during breaks and reception, with a carefully held invitation for delegates to enter the material themselves.
What ARTKOM Created
A live participatory canvas taking shape across the day, held by Nicky as artist. Small material invitations at the canvas edge made contribution feel possible without disrupting the programme.
Inside the Process
Conversations gathered near the work. Delegates who might not have spoken elsewhere met at the canvas. The painting became a quiet centre of gravity, a place to return to, comment on and add a gesture.
What Became Visible
A shared image carrying traces of the room, and a felt sense that the forum had produced something beyond its sessions, a visible marker of the day belonging to the group that made it.
