A global team meeting through art
Fifteen HR and team managers from eighteen countries met in one room, carrying the ordinary distance of international work. ARTKOM designed a participatory art experience that let them meet as people first — through material, gesture, music and the quiet informality of shared making.
The Context
A global engineering organisation with people distributed across cultures, languages and time zones. The HR community wanted their annual in-person gathering to build something more durable than a schedule of sessions.
The Invitation
To create a shared experience that could carry across cultural difference — where participants could contribute individually, encounter one another informally, and leave with a felt sense of the group.
What ARTKOM Created
A layered artist-led session moving between individual creative practice, small-group encounter and a collective visual outcome. Music and material set the tempo. Nicky held the room as artist, making space for the group to enter creative process on their own terms.
Inside the Process
People arrived carefully and left visibly lighter. Conversations moved between the work and the world it came from. Contributions accumulated into a shared visual field where every hand was present.
What Became Visible
A team that had mostly known each other through screens found a shared physical experience. Cultural difference became something the process could hold. Participants returned to their sites with a common reference — the day, the material, the image made together.
